The Land Devouring Lake

The district a few miles apart from a town is called The Land Devouring Lake. The reason for this is the ever growing lake, which slowly consumes the land around it. In the last five months, the lake grew twice as big as its original size. The townspeople are starting to get worried, since it doesn’t seem that it’s likely to stop anytime soon.

This matte painting was created during the „Photo Real Matte Painting“ Workshop with David Luong in summer 2015. The assignment was to create a set extension to expand the original image frame size.
